Näst efter skrivkramp skulle jag tro att det folk som inte är vana att skriva mest associerar med skrivande är att det är för jäkligt att bli kritiserad. Det är så hemskt att de flesta hellre har skrivkramp än att utsätta sig för risken. Därför finns det en stor poäng med att skriva om kritik - eller feedback, som nog är en bättre term. Det finns framför allt tre saker man bör känna till om feedback, och ingen av dem är att man ska försöka att inte ta det personligt. Det är omöjligt att låta bli att ta kritik mot något man har arbetat med och lagt ner sin själ riktigt personligt. Så istället finns det tre andra saker jag tänkte på:

1. Kritiken kommer

Oavsett hur mycket du förbereder dig, så kommer kritiken. Det är bara att vänja sig vid att allt och alla har en åsikt och att det kommer att göra ont. Det är också bara att vänja sig vid att den mening man har arbetat med i två veckor troligen kommer att missförstås. Allt går nämligen att missförstå.

Det här betyder bland annat att man aldrig ska ge någon en text innan man själv är färdig. Om du är nervös för att visa texten, finns det säkert en orsak till det, men å andra sidan...

2. En text blir aldrig färdig

Det är en myt att texter blir färdiga. Författare blir trötta på texterna, tiden tar slut, etc, men utan de hindren finns det inget som säger att texten är helt färdig. Så oavsett om du tar kritiken på allvar och försöker införa alla förslag eller inte, så finns det alltid mer feedback du kan få. Alltid!

Jag har ibland haft att göra med folk vars texter jag har blivit ombedd att kommentera, gjort omfattande beskrivningar av problem och sätt att lösa dem, varit rädd för att de ska gå under av mängden kommentarer, och sedan sett att personen inte verkat ta åt sig över huvud taget. Personen går glatt vidare, utan att förstå hur stora problemen är. Först brukar jag bli irriterad då, men jag har börjat respektera dem - de har verkligen fattat det här med att en text aldrig blir helt färdig. Och de har fattat en sak till:

3. Handlingar talar tydligare än ord

Kritik är bara ord. Att lämna in en text är en handling. Det är handlingarna som räknas. Det här betyder att den feedback jag gav till personen i punkten ovan, bara är ord. De trumfas av att personen har a) skrivit texten från början, och b) kanske lämnar in texten. Utan att någon skriver texten från början finns det ingen mening med att ge kritik. Och om orden fått effekten att man låtit bli att lämna in texten, då har man inte insett kraften i handlingen "att lämna in en text".

Med andra ord: tillåt dig ibland att bli en sådan där som glatt verkar vara oförstående, men som i själva verket gått sönder inombords - och ändå lämnar in texten. Då har handlingen vunnit över ordet. Igen.
