My grandfather studied in Germany to be an art book printer. Eventually he formed Bengt Silfversparre Kemigrafiska A.B.. and reproduced art work in book form. His clients were Carl Larsson, Bruno Liljefors, Albert Engström, Anders Zorn and many more. At times I think of all the interesting information about these famous artists he could have told me had I only been more mature and inquisitive and asked the right questions. At 17 I studied advertising illustrating and book printing at Konst Fack Skolan in Stockholm. I never worked at this profession, much to my regret. I married a Mexican silversmith and lived on a ranch high up in the mountains of the Sierra Madre. Five little silversmiths were born there and having servants to do the housework, I was free to draw and paint my surroundings. Later, living in Sweden. I exhibited my artwork at the Åkerberga library in 2002. Considerable interest was displayed by the public and I was encouraged by friends to reproduce the exhibit in book for. Had it not been for the help and advice from Hans von Martérn I don’t think I would have ventured into this interesting project. Therefore I am very grateful to him for his encouragement.
